By the time we closed the book on the 00's, Billy, Dave and I had four feature documentaries under our belts (Raw Deal, Cocaine Cowboys, CC2, The U) and one web series (Clubland).

In the next six weeks alone, we'll be wrapping up three docs (Square Grouper, Limelight, Cocaine Cowboys: Remix), beginning post on one (Dawg Fight) and starting three more (details soon).

The last six weeks before we finish a project are always chaotic, with music scoring, sound mixing, color correction, final motion graphics, footage clearances and conquering the mountain of paperwork known as deliverables all happening at once. This summer, it's multiplied by three.

Square Grouper will be first off the assembly line. DJ Le Spam has been putting the finishing touches on the Square Grouper score, which is wildly different from any soundtrack we've done in the past and perfectly fits the old Florida feeling of the doc.

More details about Limelight (which still needs a title) and Cocaine Cowboys: Remix coming soon as well.

We get a lot of questions about when Dawg Fight will be out, since we posted the reel right after we shot the first backyard fights last year. It comes down to the choice of editor. We interviewed a bunch of people for the job and then decided that Dave should edit it, since he did such amazing work on CC and CC2. Problem was, Dave was cutting The U and then had to finish Cocaine Cowboys: Remix, so now finally his schedule is opening up and we're going to lock him in the edit suite until he finishes Dawg Fight, sometime before the end of the year.

Yes, we are working on Cocaine Cowboys 3. It will chronicle the saga of Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta, the two most notorious cocaine traffickers in Miami's history and we'll have it done around this time next year.

I spent a couple days in New York last week with our friends at Magnolia, who distributed the two Cocaine Cowboys docs and will handle the Remix as well, talking about future business we may do together. But really, the fun part about being partners with a company owned by Mark Cuban means that you can get ahold of his Yankees tickets: front row, right behind home plate. Thanks Mark!
